Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

The basic DBT course focuses on DBT as it was designed for treating Borderline Personality disorder. However most of the strategies and techniques have since been applied to other disorders where a person struggles to regulate their emotions and behaviours eg drug and alcohol issues, eating disorders.

DBT Workshop

Radically Open DBT

Presented by Dr Maggie Stanton, this one day workshop aims to introduce clinicians to what is RO-DBT, the underpinning theory and the difference between RO and standard DBT.

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Part One Workshop (Introductory)

This is an introductory workshop on the use of EMDR which will cover the applications of EMDR to PTSD and other disorders where a person’s earlier emotional experiences are etiologically related to the client’s presentation. After completing this training you will be able to treat most patients with PTSD without the need for further training.

EMDR Part One

Part Two Workshop (Advanced)

This is an advanced workshop that targets clients who have co-morbid diagnosis in addition to PTSD. For those clients with PTSD with mild levels of dissociation and have substance abuse problems then level one training is sufficient. However if the co-morbid issues are severe enough to meet the criteria of a dissociative disorder, substance use dependence or borderline personality disorder then additional training is necessary. This workshop includes EMDR techniques such as cognitive interweaves, formulating a client according to AIP theory and specific EMDR protocols for complex issues.

EMDR Part Two

Schema Therapy

Part One – Standard Workshop

This was designed to help you treat clients with complex interpersonal relationships, chronic symptom disorders & personality disorders it begins by teaching how to formulate these clients early maladaptive schemas and then how to share this information with the client. It then focuses on cognitive, relational, and emotional techniques to bring about change relevant to these schema.

Schema Therapy Part One

Part Two – Advanced Schema Mode Workshop

This workshop is intended for people who are familiar with basic schema model and practice some of the experiential techniques. Rather than a focus on understanding client issues from a trait model, its focus is the schema mode model. This is particularly suitable for clients with high levels of emotional dysregulation.

Schema Therapy Advanced

Part Three – Advanced Schema Therapy for Special Populations

In the past we have organised workshops on working with groups, forensic populations, and working with clients who benefit from empathic confrontation.  The dates and workshops are still to be finalised for 2019.
