Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
The basic DBT course focuses on DBT as it was designed for treating Borderline Personality disorder. However most of the strategies and techniques have since been applied to other disorders where a person struggles to regulate their emotions and behaviours eg drug and alcohol issues, eating disorders.
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Part One Workshop (Introductory)
This is an introductory workshop on the use of EMDR which will cover the applications of EMDR to PTSD and other disorders where a person’s earlier emotional experiences are etiologically related to the client’s presentation. After completing this training you will be able to treat most patients with PTSD without the need for further training.
Part Two Workshop (Advanced)
This is an advanced workshop that targets clients who have co-morbid diagnosis in addition to PTSD. For those clients with PTSD with mild levels of dissociation and have substance abuse problems then level one training is sufficient. However if the co-morbid issues are severe enough to meet the criteria of a dissociative disorder, substance use dependence or borderline personality disorder then additional training is necessary. This workshop includes EMDR techniques such as cognitive interweaves, formulating a client according to AIP theory and specific EMDR protocols for complex issues.
EMDR 2.0
EMDR 2.0 is a version of EMDR therapy that adjusts the standard protocol to enhance treatment for clients with more complex PTSD experiences. The adjustments are based on clinical experience of the presenters and scientific research into working memory theory.
Advanced EMDR protocols: from early intervention to prolonged adverse events
Dr. Ignacio (Nacho) Jarero will present his series of protocols that can be used to treat people who have experienced a variety of traumatic events including recent events, ongoing stressors and historic abuse. The effectiveness of his EMDR protocols have been investigated in 65 peer-reviewed published papers and in a variety of cultural contexts.
